Responsibilities- Perform basic field work including collecting information and measurements of utility locations, collecting GPS data points, reviewing maps and records, and producing field sketches for accurate as-built documentation.
- Receive detailed training for standard survey and construction practices required for utility design projects.
- Work independently, make field decisions without direct supervision, and obtain field data to determine condition of structures under evaluation.
- Provide field support for design to adhere to company and contract requirements and support the overall construction schedule.
- Compile and submit accurate paperwork and field data for senior staff review.
- Adhere to and promote company safety measures at all times.
- Collect field data points using GPS equipment.
- Work with mobile and desktop applications and operate in and around active construction sites.
- Coordinate with clients and sub-contractors to align on work scope and timelines.
- Capture detailed and confirmed field data.
- Ability to pass a DOT drug test.
- U.S. Citizenship may be required for government contracts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and with team members, clients, and management staff.
- Experience working in the field in varying weather and site conditions.
- Willingness to travel as required for the job; clean driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle.
- Basic computer skills in MS Office and field applications for surveying and data management.
- AutoCAD experience; gas utility installation experience a plus.
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.
This position may require standing or walking for extended periods on uneven ground, climbing ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 50 pounds, and potentially working in all-weather conditions.
