HASI is currently seeking an Analyst/Associate – Portfolio Management to join our team in Annapolis, MD. This individual will support the review and analysis of HASI’s existing investment portfolio as well as support due diligence of new investment opportunities.
Salary RangeExpected salary range of $100,000–147,500 based on experience and location. Responsibilities Portfolio Management and AnalyticsDetailed performance review of the operating portfolio of grid‑connected or behind‑the‑meter investments, including various aspects of production, revenue, and operating expenses.
Manage dataflows from investments and map them into internal database.
Build and manage financial models, including underlying project operating proformas, to analyze economics and review risks.
Work closely and collaboratively with broader portfolio management and investment teams to achieve objectives above.
Prepare briefing deck and reporting materials for management synthesizing asset performance and avenues for improvement.
Investment Due DiligenceWork closely with the Investment Team to support due diligence processes for debt/equity investments and acquisition activity, including analyzing production, operating expenses, and merchant curves.
Education and Work ExperienceBachelor’s degree from a four‑year institution or Master’s in Finance, Economics or Business; CFA Charter holder or CFA candidate would be a plus.
2‑5 years of experience in renewable energy project finance/valuation or finance/investment banking in the power sector.
Excellent MS Excel financial modeling and data mining skills, with demonstrable experience working with complex models, is a necessary requirement.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability and desire to work in a fast‑paced, innovative, entrepreneurial environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and to assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
Dependable and reliable, takes initiative, can work independently, and be a supportive team member.
Advanced experience using Excel required and experience working with modern data analytics and reporting tools (Business Objects, SQL, SSMS, SSIS, R, Power
BI, Tableau) preferred.
