The AI SME produces high quality, professional, and innovative solutions to complex and technologically advanced AI problems. The ideal candidate is recognized as an AI expert by peers and customers while working on the forefront of new AI technologies. The AI SME will assist the contractor technical lead and customer in the development and maintenance of the SDK for AI Security & Risk Metrics.

The candidate will perform in a leadership function for the AI Security Center to research, develop, build, test, deploy, and document cutting edge tools for robust security testing and monitoring of AI systems for the IC, DOD, NSS owners, and the Defense Industrial Base.

• Architect and oversee the research and development of AI models
• Research and develop scoring and weighting algorithms to perform benchmarking and evaluation on available AI models
• Guide teams in model selection, feature engineering, and performance optimization
• Implement best practices for MLOps, reproducibility, and responsible AI
• Ensure scalability, security, and reliability of AI-powered systems

A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.

Fifteen (15) years' experience and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or thirteen (13) years' and a Master's degree or ten (10) years' and a PhD.

Required skills:

• Proven experience deploying ML models in production environments
• Deep understanding of ML algorithms, deep learning frameworks (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Strong coding skills in Python, Java, or similar languages
• Trained and fine-tuned large language models (LLMs) on domain-specific datasets, leveraging techniques such as prompt engineering, transfer learning, and reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) to optimize model accuracy, coherence, and performance
• Experience in NLP, computer vision, reinforcement learning, or generative AI

Desired skills:

• Background in high-scale consumer or enterprise applications
• Familiarity with data governance, ethical AI practices, and compliance frameworks
• Experience automating tests for LLM evaluation scenarios within CI/CD workflows
• Experience interfacing with cloud APIs and LLMs to enable seamless integration and functionality
• Experience deploying LLMs using frameworks like Hugging Face, PyTorch, and Tensor Flow. Understanding of Hardware Security Models (HSMs)
• Strong understanding of Cybersecurity

Erias Ventures provides a complete package of wealth, health, and happiness benefits. The expected salary range for this position, depending on education and years of experience is $240,000- $265,000.
