Data warehouse architect​/engineer

Dhaka Technologies Limited is looking for two (2) Data Warehouse Architect/Engineers for a client in Annapolis, Maryland. This is a Hybrid Full Time position.

Data Warehouse (DW) and ETL Process Design:

• Active involvement in all aspects of designing, creating, and specifying components for DW and ETL processes.

Service Coordination:

• Work with technical, functional, and management representatives to provide:
• Source Data Model to DW Logical Design ERD:
• Understand the current data structure and star schema models.
• Create a logical data warehouse design.
• Collaborate with the platform administration team to design and document the ETL process, including system architecture and requirements.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and testing of ETL tools.

DW Schema Development:

• Develop effective data warehouse models representing data entities based on analytical, reporting, and bulk data needs.

DW Physical Design:

• Collaborate with the platform administration team to create a physical data warehouse design, focusing on data quality and operational efficiency.

Stakeholder

Collaboration:

• Work with business and technology stakeholders to ensure the development and effective utilization of data warehouse architecture.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure all work complies with regulatory standards to protect sensitive data.

Reporting:

• Provide weekly progress reports on programs and projects.
• Communicate project progress and status weekly.
• Submit additional reports as required by the supervising manager.

Meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred
• At least 5 years of experience in data warehouse architecture, design, and development.
• Experience in the design and extension of data marts, metadata, and data models.
• Ensuring all data warehouse architecture codes are maintained in a version control system.
• Advanced experience in developing codes, quality assurance testing, and administering RDBMS.
• Proficient in structuring optimized data workflows within Azure’s architecture.
• Experience with ETL tools, Visual Studio, and managing XML and SQL.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) for task automation in Azure.
• Strong ability to write optimized SQL queries and manage databases, especially in Azure SQL and other SQL-based services.
• Advanced experience with SQL Server 2016+, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and stored procedures.
• Proficiency in dimensional modeling techniques (STAR schema, Snowflake schema, etc.).
• Familiarity with BI best practices, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, and reporting techniques.
• Ability to design and build BI solutions, including query and data load optimization, and addressing data integrity issues.
• Experience in designing and implementing database models and schemes for efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
• Skills in monitoring and optimizing data systems for performance, scalability, and integrity.
• Proficiency in ETL procedures, data quality verification, and normalization processes.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and One Lake.
• Strong analytical, consultative, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with peers, end users, vendor staff, and all management levels.
• Capabilities in critical thinking, problem-solving, and mentoring.
• Quick learning and prototyping of new technologies.
