This opportunity supports a team of Exploitation Analysts, Digital Network Exploitation Analysts, Target Digital Network Analysts, and Cyber Network Defense Analysts, responsible for improving, protecting, and defending our Nation’s Security.

Job Description
  • We are looking for a Computer Network Defense Analyst (CNDA) with experience in computer or information systems design, programming, cybersecurity, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, computer forensics, information assurance, and systems engineering. You will utilize information from various sources, such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, network traffic logs, and host system logs, to identify potential vulnerabilities, respond to cyber events, and defend against possible threats.

    Additionally, you will help develop mitigations to strengthen network defenses and protect against attacks on network infrastructure devices or systems. Your work may encompass various data transport methods, including traditional wired networks, wireless transport (Wi‑Fi and cellular), and collaborative platforms like video teleconferencing, along with the supporting hardware and software. Experience in network or system administration is also required.
Computer Network Defense Analyst 4 shall possess the following capabilities
  • Ability to quickly become a subject matter expert on a designated advanced persistent threat group.
  • Expertise in identifying malicious cyber activity utilizing a variety of sources, customer tools, and analytic methodologies.
  • The ability to discover, understand, and characterize infrastructure and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) utilized by cyber actors to conduct malicious cyber operations.
  • Develop signatures to discover and track malicious cyber activity to include bespoke malware and other TTPs.
  • Ability to identify and characterize victims of malicious cyber activity.
  • Experience translating analysis into intelligence products and ability to perform technical and analytic review of intelligence reporting.
Desired Skills
  • The ability to identify and triage malware and other malicious code in partnership and support of malware analysts on staff.
  • Experience working with external and multi-national partners.
  • Experience developing, modifying, and documenting Jupyter notebooks to enhance intrusion analysis tradecraft.
Qualifications
  • An Associate’s Degree with 13 years of experience.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree with 11 years of experience.
  • A Master’s Degree with 9 years of experience.
  • A PhD with 7 years of experience.
  • A Degree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (e.g., General Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Forensics, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Information Assurance, or Computer Security).
  • 18 semester hours of military training/courses in networking, computer science, or cyber topics is equivalent to an Associate's degree.
  • Completion of military training in a relevant area such as the Joint Cyber Analysis Course (JCAC) may count towards the experience requirement (24‑week JCAC course may count as 6 months of experience).

Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.
