You know that a good platform is more than just the code, infrastructure, and a nice-looking interface – it's the way it addresses a user's needs. As an experience engineer, you can put yourself in the user's place and design the best way for them to engage with the platform. We're looking for someone creative like you to craft the ultimate user experience.
Let’s transform the way a user interacts with self-service cloud platforms, from the portal where they ask for an environment to the review, approval, and onboarding steps that get them building.
In this role, you'll work closely with the product manager on your team to understand your clients' vision and their users' needs. Working on an agile team, you'll build skills in designing large-scale digital experiences that are as intuitive as they are aesthetically pleasing.
You'll be involved with the full spectrum of the digital creative process, including user research, service design, information architecture, wire framing, rapid prototyping, and interface design. Your experience with user research, information architecture, and rapid prototyping will help you advocate for the prioritization of design-centered changes, refinements, and improvements, all the while keeping the end-user at the center of your work.
Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:- Experience designing enterprise web applications, including user research, information architecture, wire framing, and rapid prototyping
- Experience designing complex multi-step workflows, including request intake, approvals, and forms for technical or business users
- Experience conducting user research, including interviews, usability testing, and journey mapping, and turning findings into prioritized design changes
- Experience creating or contributing to a design system, including page templates, components, and navigation patterns
- Experience using AI design or coding assistants, including Claude, Git Hub Copilot, or Figma AI, in daily design and prototyping work, and validating AI-generated output before it ships
- Ability to present research findings and design recommendations to both engineering teams and senior leaders
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in user experience design, or Master's degree and 3+ years of experience in user experience design
- Experience designing developer portals or self-service cloud provisioning experiences, including Backstage or internal platform portals
- Experience designing for low-code platforms, including Out Systems or Service Now
- Experience with service design, including service blueprints and process maps for non-digital workflows such as review boards, intake, and onboarding
- Experience defining and instrumenting experience metrics, including task success, time to value, adoption, and customer satisfaction
- Experience with content design for technical audiences, including documentation sites and onboarding guides
- Knowledge of cloud computing and security compliance concepts, including NIST SP 800-171 or CMMC
- Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or a related field
- Nielsen Norman Group UX Certification, Certified Usability Analyst (CUA), or IAAP CPACC Certification
