Call Requirement: Every third weekend
Looking for cardiac trained RN that can circulate and preferably scrub. Need nurse for cardiac OR that can circulate. Ideal if they can scrub as well. Call required.
The CVOR at Anne Arundel Medical Center supports a high-volume cardiovascular surgical program, performing complex cardiac and vascular procedures. This role requires a cardiac-trained RN with strong circulating experience and the ability to scrub when needed. Nurses must demonstrate advanced perioperative skills, teamwork, and adherence to sterile technique in a fast-paced operating room environment.
RequirementsLicensure: Active Maryland RN License or Compact License.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years recent CVOR experience – Required
Strong cardiac OR circulating experience – Required
Scrub experience – Preferred
Community hospital experience – Preferred
Trauma Experience: Trauma Level I or II – Preferred
Local Radius Rule: Locals Accepted
CertificationsBLS (AHA) – Required
ACLS (AHA) – Preferred
Charting System: Not Specified
Clinical Job DutiesCirculate for cardiovascular surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacements, aneurysm repairs, and vascular cases while maintaining strict sterile technique.
Assist with scrubbing for cardiac and vascular surgeries when required, preparing instruments, supplies, and surgical fields.
Administer blood and blood products safely and in accordance with surgical and anesthesia protocols.
Support intraoperative patient care including monitoring lines, assisting with pulmonary artery lines, and coordinating with anesthesia and surgical teams.
Participate in call coverage, responding promptly for urgent and emergent cardiac surgical cases.

Daily Census: 50–60 cases per day
Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
