We are looking for a Cloud Software Engineer with skill in Dev Ops, cloud solutioning and administration for a government client in Annapolis Junction, MD.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex Big Data Cloud systems based on documented requirements.
• Contribute to all stages of backend processing, analyzing, and indexing.
• Provide expertise in Cloud Computing, Hadoop Ecosystem including implementing Java applications, Distributed Computing, Information Retrieval (IR), and Object Oriented Design.
• Work individually or as part of a team.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
• Resolve software problem reports.
• Utilize appropriate development and software design methodologies.
• Contribute to system design including hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, COTS/GOTS usage, and requirements analysis from system level to individual components.

• Experience with cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge in containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
• Good communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• 12 years of software engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university required; at least four years of experience in Big Data cloud technologies and/or Distributed Computing.
• 4 years of cloud software engineering experience on projects with similar Big Data systems may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• Master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
• Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer certification may substitute for one year of Cloud experience.
• 1 year of experience with implementing code that interacts with Cloud Big Table, Cloud Distributed File System, complex Map Reduce analytics, Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks, and architecting Cloud Computing solutions.
• Experience with utility computing, network management, virtualization (VMWare or Virtual Box), and cloud computing.
• Proficiency with programming languages and tools such as Java, Eclipse, MAVEN, RESTful web services, Python, CFEngine, Bash, Ruby, etc.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix, CentOS, and related operating systems.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Subversion, Clear Quest, or Razor.
• Experience with Elastic stack solutioning, indexing, searching, and managing data.
• Familiarity with NiFi management.
• Agile Scrum or other Agile methodologies is a plus.

• Provide in-depth knowledge of Information Retrieval and assist in designing, developing and testing Cloud IT.
• Implement complex workflows managing Cloud Map Reduce analytics.
• Oversee software development tasks and ensure completion under constraints.
• Recommend new technologies and processes for complex cloud software projects.
• Ensure quality control of all developed and modified software.
