Institutional Product GroupThe Institutional Product Group enables the foundations of Coinbase's institutional business supporting thousands of large financial institutions. We enable institutions to custody their digital assets and participate in the crypto economy in a secure and safe way. We take pride in building a scalable & secure crypto platform supporting hundreds of assets and enabling crypto participation with staking, governance and web3 gateways.
The team has interesting work on building cutting‑edge crypto technologies, scalable infrastructure and UI surfaces across web, mobile and browser extensions in a fast‑paced industry with an opportunity to build several new initiatives.
The Markets Derivatives team is responsible for developing and managing the core systems powering both Coinbase’s US Derivatives and International Exchanges, including Matching Engines, Order Management System, FIX, REST, and Market Data gateways as well as diverse set of products and services for a wide range of customer segments. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join a talented and growing engineering team that tackles some of the most demanding scale and performance challenges across the company as they deliver on an ambitious product roadmap designed to establish Coinbase as the leading and most trusted crypto platform globally.
What you’ll be doing :- Design and implement new trading products and features
- Extend and scale the low latency platform on which trading runs
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers and senior leadership to turn our vision into a tangible deliverables every quarter
- Improving developer efficiency, engineering excellence, and operational excellence
- Provide support to operations and other engineering teams
- Mentor team members and help uplift the technical skill set across the team
- You have at least 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
- You’ve designed, built, scaled and maintained production services, and know how to compose a service oriented architecture.
- You write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.
- You’re passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together.
- You’ve worked with some or all of:
Java, Aeron, Golang, Postgres, Kafka, Protobuf, and React. - You’ve built financial, high reliability or security systems.

Pay Transparency Notice:Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility + equity eligibility**+ benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).
Pay Range:$152,405—$179,300 USD
