Impact of the Role General Profile
  • Requires working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical scientific or operational processes

Essential Functions
  • Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
  • Develop specific calibrations and tests.
  • Document results in accordance with the specification.
  • Identify errors and defects in equipment.
  • Use ultrasound, radiography, or other techniques during the testing process.
  • Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
  • Maintain or develop procedures, policies, and techniques as necessary.
  • Train subordinate personnel in the various NDT disciplines and techniques.
  • Maintain documentation for training and experience hours.
Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience:
    Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience
  • Other: NAS 410 Certification Level 2 – State issued industrial radiographer certificate – Ability to achieve Level I or Level 2 certification in alignment with NAS 410 standards, through education, training, and testing, and perform the required Level 2 requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred education and experience:
    Associate’s Degree
  • Discipline/Major:
    Science Degree in NDT or equivalent training and experience
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities:
    Technical expertise, problem‑solving skills, time‑management skills, manual dexterity
Physical Requirements
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD‑OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • This position is Safety‑Sensitive.
Travel Requirements
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD‑OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • This position is Safety‑Sensitive.
