Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work every other weekend schedule required

• Float to Medical Surgical units as needed

• Patient ratio of 1:5 days, 1:6 nights and weekends

• 2 years of nursing experience required

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, Alabama nursing license

• Required work settings experience: MS/Tele, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown

• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required

• Must be able to start IVs and manage Heparin protocols

• Manage cardiac drips without titration

• Skills include telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

• Use of rapid response/code teams

• Blood product administration and central line care/management

• Peripheral line care/management and oxygen administration

• Non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions

• Experience with any charting system required

• Accepts first-time travelers

• Orientation includes specialty-specific modules that vary by unit

• Weekend coverage required
