Job Details:

• Work night shifts with every other weekend schedule

• Option for 4x12 hour shifts

• Patient ratio of 1:6 for adults and geriatric populations

• Float to like units as needed

• Possible charge nurse responsibilities as needed

• Must work at least 1 of 3 holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day

• 30-bed medical surgical unit

• 30-minute lunch break required with no skipped meals policy

• Must adhere to call-in policy and have current fit test

• Required skills include IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac

• Experience with blood product administration, colostomy care, feeding tube management, heparin, insulin, PCA pumps, PICC line management, and surgical drains

• Minimum 1 year of experience required

• Previous charge experience preferred

• Level II trauma experience preferred

• Travel experience preferred

• Alabama nursing license required

• Current BLS via AHA and fit test required

• NIHSS preferred

• Charting system experience required

This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed medical surgical unit providing comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients. The facility offers interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support. The organization maintains strict policies regarding meal breaks and attendance to ensure quality patient care and staff well-being.
