- Ensure personal safety and the safety of team members.
- Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Wear appropriate PPE, including fall, respiratory, hearing, foot, hand, head, and eye protection.
- Use proper lifting and ergonomic techniques.
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material or equipment needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of machining and assembly areas, including emptying trash and chip barrels and monitoring coolant tanks and sumps.
- Operate tow motor, skid steer, sweeper, and related moving equipment to transport waste and product.
- Notify supervisor of errors or equipment stoppages.
- Perform lubrication tasks: fill containers (oil cans, grease guns, lubricating tanks) with specified lubricant, pour oil, regulate flow, apply grease to bearings, and reclaim used oils.
- Use hand tools to remove machine covers, access bearings, and conduct preventive maintenance (PM) and grease applications.
- Clean around work areas regularly.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum age 18.
- Certification to drive motorized equipment (forklifts and man lifts) required.
- Safety oriented for self and others.
- Team‑work ability.
Language
Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, write basic correspondence, and present information to small groups.
Mathematical
Skills:
Basic arithmetic with two‑digit numbers and simple calculations involving US money, weight, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions and handle standardized problem situations.
Physical DemandsRegular standing, use of hands and arms, reaching, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work EnvironmentExposure to wide range of temperatures, humidity, moving machinery, dust, fumes, gases, odors, vibrations, and varying noise levels.
