American Traveler is hiring an RN for a PCU/Telemetry role requiring 2 years of cardiac monitoring experience and an active AL or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active RN license (Alabama or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
- Charting system experience required (any EMR)
- Ability to start IVs and manage Heparin protocols
- Experience managing cardiac drips without titration
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Experience with central and peripheral line care/management
- Experience with non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
- Work in the PCU (Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown) at a hospital
- Also requires MS/Tele and Telemetry work setting experience
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Float to Med Surg units required
- Every other weekend required
- Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response care in a telemetry/stepdown setting
- Must work at least one holiday:
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day - First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
- Requested time off is limited to a maximum of 7 days
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a different pay rate
