Community Ed Youth Instructors - Dance Team Coaches

Coaches work with middle school participants enrolled in community education programs. Help promote skill development, teamwork, leadership, social growth, sportsmanship, positive reinforcement, and respect for others in a safe and positive environment.

Feb-March, 2026. Monday – Thursday practice, 3:00 pm – 5:15 pm; competition dates are Wednesdays go as late as 6:00 pm, except the District Competition which takes place in the evening.

Anoka Middle, Coon Rapids Middle, Jackson Middle, Northdale Middle, Oak View Middle, Roosevelt Middle.

• Dance Line coaching – conduct daily practice and preparing for games/meets/events.
• Creating dance routines.
• Prepare and provide student safety and program presentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned. (Concussion training is required.)

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance, including completing assigned days.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
• Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.
• Must be physically working in the building/on site.
• Concussion training is required.

• Previous dance line and/or dance line coaching experience.
• Relevant work experience and previous experience with community school activities.
• Advanced training or college degree preferred for coach and assistant coach positions.
• Previous experience working with middle school aged students.

$17.95/hour, DOQ.
