Minnesota Direct Care and Treatment is seeking a driven Regulatory Affairs Officer to join the Quality division. The Quality division mission is to monitor and improve healthcare delivery to ensure improved safety, higher quality, increased accessibility, equity, and cost‑effectiveness of the programs we operate, the patients we are entrusted to serve, and the workforce of the organization.

The Regulatory Affairs Officer provides regulatory guidance and responses, facilitates compliance with state and federal rules, regulations, licensing, and accreditation requirements, and supports the quality of Direct Care and Treatment programs across Minnesota. As the subject matter expert, the Regulatory Affairs Officer coordinates, directs and ensures compliance to all regulatory standards as applicable to healthcare service delivery organizations. The Regulatory Affairs Officer uses various forms of analysis to identify opportunities to implement changes that result in successfully complying with all applicable requirements, laws, and regulations.

To mobilize action and achieve organizational goals, the Regulatory Affairs Officer consults with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the organization including administrators, physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to create written materials and present information succinctly.

Primary

Responsibilities Include:
  • Coordinate and advise on the development, implementation and support of ongoing compliance assessment, research and data analysis including root cause analyses, proactive analysis, and surveys.
  • Function as a coordinator, advisor and resource to peers, administrators and leadership on all applicable rules, regulations, and licensing and accreditation requirements to implement and apply actions needed to sustain or improve compliance.
  • Participate in continuous learning opportunities including training opportunities, education seminars, quality assurance activities and literature review to keep current on regulatory compliance best practices.
Minimum Qualifications

Three years of professional experience with The Joint Commission or other accreditation and survey processes such as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or the Joint Commission (JC) monitoring compliance with quality and accreditation requirements.

Note:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in healthcare and related fields may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications
