  • Provide targeted small group reading instruction to students at all reading levels, with a focus on acceleration and reading goal attainment.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources aligned with students' individual reading levels and needs.
  • Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers to align instructional practices, support classroom goals, and inform student progress.
  • Design and adapt lessons and materials that are differentiated to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Track and document student performance and progress using the district’s data management systems (e.g., School Pace, DIBELS).
  • Participate in data meetings and instructional planning sessions to discuss student progress and determine next steps.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and confidential records.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to reading instruction.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to literacy instruction, assessment, and instructional strategies.
  • Support and model a culture of literacy throughout the school building.
  • Instructs reading programs with fidelity
  • Any additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
  • Required certification: CT Elementary teaching certification (013, 305)
  • Successful teaching experience in an urban setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of literacy development, evidence-based reading practices, and data analysis
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team of educators and work independently when necessary
  • Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills
  • $25 an hour
  • Maximum of 29.5 hours a week
  • There are no benefits associated with this position
