Automation Engineer
Job DescriptionThe Automation Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining safe and reliable control software for industrial machinery. This includes PLC programming, HMI development, VFD parametrization, and industrial networking. This role is critical to setting the standard for the form, fit, and function of machine control software and will contribute directly to the innovation, safety, and performance of products.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain control software for industrial machinery.
- Program PLCs using Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000.
- Design and configure HMI systems using AVEVA InTouch.
- Set parameters and commission large motors and VFDs (≥600kW).
- Ensure compliance with safety standards in control systems design.
- Conduct FATs and troubleshoot control logic in live environments.
- Support customer needs and provide technical assistance.
- Collaborate on R&D for sustainable materials like biodegradable plastics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in automation engineering for industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal) and Rockwell PLC programming (Studio 5000).
- Experience with AVEVA InTouch HMI configuration.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and industrial control systems design.
- Familiarity with communication protocols and industrial networking.
- Experience with large motors and VFDs (≥600kW).
- Knowledge of automation systems including instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude.

- Customer support experience.
