Assistant Store Manager – Sally Beauty

Location:

Ansonia, CT

Salary: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 (approx.)

Essential Functions

Store Managers are responsible for hiring, developing and leading all store associates while ensuring optimal customer experiences, effectively overseeing all store operations, and maintaining brand standards. Develop the strategies and plans to achieve key performance indicators and financial targets through business analysis, action planning, effective communication and consistent accountability. Assistant Managers, as part of their development, support the Store Manager in all areas outlined below and are responsible for all Primary Duties when the Store Manager is not present.

Primary

Duties
  • Brand (30%):
    Provide supervision and support the direction planning of associates daily goals and activities to deliver an exceptional client experience which maximizes sales/KPIs and drives customer loyalty. Emphasis on in-store selling model and Omni‑channel. Ensure all brand standards are met such as merchandising, POGs, marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc. Act as main point of contact to resolve customer issues and concerns.

    Analyze store trends and anticipate customer demands.
  • People (30%):
    Engage, train and develop teams to achieve positive results. Leverage internal hiring platforms and actively recruit to build a strong network of external candidates. Identify strengths and opportunities for each associate and coach or counsel accordingly. Hold team accountable to company policies and expectations. Resolve associate concerns and keep associates informed. Build strong working relationships with Store Manager peers. Foster an environment of diversity, inclusion and belonging.
  • Operations (30%):
    Ensure execution of all company processes through training, management, analysis and continuous improvement. Support digital strategies such as Omni‑channel fulfillment (SFS/SDD/BOPIS).
  • Inventory & Payroll
    :
    Effectively manage inventory through ordering and shipment processing. Manage payroll hours to the needs of the business and schedule accordingly. Ensure all store opening and closing procedures are performed correctly.
  • Safety/Loss Prevention (10%):
    Ensure the store environment is safe at all times for associates and customers. Enforce policies and procedures related to shrink, damages, banking, etc. Analyze reports and tools. Ensure compliance with HAZMAT training and execution.
Knowledge, Skills & Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Minimum 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience preferred.
  • At least 1+ year prior management experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead or support a team of associates to meet business objectives.
  • Strong communication skills with team and management.
  • Scheduling availability to meet business needs.
  • Cosmetology license desirable, but not required.

Working Conditions /

Physical Requirements
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, lifting moderately heavy items (shipment/record boxes). May require working in other stores from time to time.
  • Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts (trips/falls, fire regulations, traffic signals). Requires adequate lighting, heating, ventilation.
