* Roles and Responsibilities:

** About the K-5 Teacher Role:  
* As a Homeroom Teacher you provide a welcoming and nurturing classroom that guides students to build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning.
* Curricular elements include Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, as well as rich content in History, Science, and Literature.
* As a Homeroom Teacher you enjoy the support of an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher in your classroom.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
* Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
* Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
* Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
* Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

Preferred Education:

* * Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
* Certification is not required for general education
* All majors are welcome

Skills:

** Excellent oral and written communication skills, and an interest in reading great books.  
** Physical Functions:
** Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.  
** US work authorization is required, but we do accept OPT/CPT candidates.*
