Schedule
The contractor will normally work Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), between the hours of 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM.
W-2 Position @ $30.00 per hour.

Federal Correctional Institution, La Tuna, Texas located at 8500 Doniphan Drive, Anthony, TX.
Schedule
A session is defined as one hour in a period of 8 hours a day. The contractor will normally provide (1) hour sessions per day, 5 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays. Work hours will normally be between 8:00 a.m.
- 3:00 p.m. with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution.
Due to the nature of the correctional setting, delays in performance of work may be experienced. When contract employees report to the institution but are unable to perform services due to such delays, the contractor will be paid for one session. Normal remaining sessions for that day will be suspended. In the event of any absence, the contractor may make up his/her time so long as it does not exceed 35 hours in any given week.
Education and Experience
The contract employee must be fully licensed to perform radiological procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist and licensed by the state of Texas. He/She must have at least three or more years of experience. Background clearance packets shall include a current license.
The contractor must be Basic Life Support (BLS) certified with evidence of graduation from an accredited school of radiology technology. The qualified individual selected to perform these services must be identified at the time the quotation is submitted.
Verification of credentials (state licensed if applicable federal licensed). Proof of Insurability. Verify certification in CPR.
Failure to submit evidentiary documentation of certifications, licenses, qualifications, or the name of a qualified candidate who will perform these services may result in elimination from consideration.
The selected individual must be able to pass a drug screening and a law enforcement agency background check.
Supplies and Equipment
The following will be provided by the institution: radiology equipment, aprons, shields, CDs and other equipment and supplies related to the performance of the procedures.
Health Requirements
The contractor shall ensure their employee is free of communicable diseases. Any employee who subsequently develops a medical condition that might endanger others shall be immediately removed from affected activities. In such cases, the contractor shall, at no additional cost to the institution, secure replacement personnel required to perform this contract.
Testing for tuberculosis and other communicable diseases may be required. Failure to comply may result in denial of access to inmates.
Description of Duties
- Perform routine radiologic procedures to a minimum of 20 inmates per day as ordered by the medical staff.
- Transmit, retrieve X‑ray images and reports electronically, and scan reports into inmates’ Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).
- Receive training to retrieve radiographic consults from BEMR and schedule them to perform all radiographic procedures.
- Work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
- Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs.
- Possess knowledge of basic emergency situations that may occur during special radiographic procedures.
- Schedule exams and maintain records.
- Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.
- Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam.
- Independently perform all radiographic procedures; i.e., chest, bone, skull, spine, and portable x‑rays, etc.
- Notify Radiologist or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam.
- Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care.
- Work with the Health Services Administrator (HSA) to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed.
