Overview

A typical day involves inspiring people to make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money, and building client relationships that grow stronger each year. As a Team Leader
, you ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You ll serve as the front-line manager, developing tax office associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives. You ll also advance your knowledge and skills to excel as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and development to tax office associates; deliver an outstanding client experience and achieve office growth objectives.
  • Partner with District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, develop local partnerships, and manage office community involvement.
  • Assist the District General Manager in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
  • Serve as point of contact for on-site escalated client service concerns; ensure clients are scheduled properly and conflicts are resolved.
  • Lead daily activities to ensure work is completed on time with quality standards and aligned with priorities and goals.
  • Train and coach associates to execute Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions; lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information.
  • Create associate work schedules, ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
  • Prepare tax returns as required and conduct timely performance reviews; partner with Associate Relations Center to resolve issues and address performance concerns.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a customer service, shift leadership, or similar role; experience supervising or managing people.
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course* (if preparing tax returns).
  • Annual completion of continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Passionate, determined, and resilient with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule and adapt to business needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (or higher).
