Job Description

Perform general clean-up and stock work in the Meat department and provide customer service. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully. Greet customers and provide them with good quality food.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Communicate effectively with customers and associates.
• Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
• Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods according to company standards, recipes, and policies.
• Perform temperature monitoring.
• Monitor product quality to ensure freshness and safety.
• Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
• Maintain floors free from clutter and safe.
• Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils per company and health department policies.
• Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, and space allocation.
• Operate equipment and maintain facilities safely and properly.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Operate cash register as applicable.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, labels, and training materials.
• Multi-task, prioritize, and work professionally with all levels.
• Show personal initiative and follow-through.
• Work well in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Safely handle cleaning solutions, sharp tools, and operate equipment.

Desired

• Dependability and integrity in past work.
• Experience in food preparation.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations related to employment, safety, and food handling.
• Experience in grocery retail and customer service.
