Teacher Assistant Education Centre

Support students at Antigonish Education Centre as a Teacher Assistant for 6.25 hours a day starting September 1, 2026. Assist with personal care, behavior management, and instructional support.

In this pivotal role, you will aid students with personal hygiene, feeding, and dressing needs. You'll implement behavior management plans and promote students’ emotional growth and independence. Collaborating with teachers, you will help with program preparations and offer vital support during community work placements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with personal hygiene and feeding

• Administer medication under direction of the principal

• Supervise students to ensure a safe learning environment

• Facilitate positive interactions and encourage participation

• Assist with the implementation of behavior management plans

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent training

• Certification as a Teacher Assistant or equivalent program

• Current CPR and First Aid certification

• Experience with children with exceptional needs

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
