Position: Teacher Assistant Role
Elevate student success as a Teacher Assistant at E Antigonish Educ Centre, focusing on personal care and academic support. Engage students while ensuring a safe and encouraging environment.

The Strait Regional Centre for Education is looking for a dedicated Teacher Assistant to support students from September 1, 2026, through a 6.75-hour work schedule. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, implementing behavior management plans, and providing instructional support. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication abilities and experience with students requiring specialized support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Aid students with daily personal care needs

• Foster positive relationships and emotional growth

• Implement and support educational strategies and materials

• Assist teachers in preparing instructional content

• Monitor safe transportation to community programs

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience

• Certified training in personal care or teacher assistant program

• Current CPR and First Aid certification required

• Strong interpersonal skills essential

• Experience with children with exceptional needs preferred
