Position: Teacher Assistant Role

This Term Teacher Assistant position is based at the Antigonish Education Centre, with a daily schedule of 6.75 hours. You will work closely with students with exceptional needs, offering assistance in personal hygiene and promoting emotional well-being. Your input in educational strategies will be vital for their growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Aid students with feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene

• Encourage positive interactions and emotional growth

• Help implement behavior management plans

• Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials

• Supervise students to maintain a safe learning environment

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Completion of a teacher assistant training program

• Current CPR and First Aid certification

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience managing exceptional needs children
