Teachers hired or recalled into new positions will be required to participate in a New Teacher training if they have not already done so.

Work Schedule:

50% everyday afternoons

Worksite: H M Macdonald Elementary

Effective Dates: 08/01/2026 to 07/31/2027

• Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia
• Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition
• Excellent classroom and student management skills
• Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning
• Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
• Knowledge of inter-disciplinary planning is a requirement

Your application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor. All candidates short listed for interview will have references checked prior to being interviewed.

All employees must provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment with the Strait Regional Centre for Education.
