Position: Teacher Assistant Role
Become a vital part of Antigonish Education Centre as a Teacher Assistant with the Strait Regional Centre for Education. Engage directly with students, offering personal care, instructional support, and behavioral assistance.

This term role runs from September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, focusing on personal care tasks and fostering emotional stability among students. You will assist with medication administration, facilitate positive peer interactions, and play a role in educational strategies and plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care, including assistance with hygiene

• Implement behavior management plans in collaboration with teachers

• Support instructional materials and feedback for students

• Ensure safety and assist students in mobility tasks

• Accompany students during community-based programs

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification

• Relevant training in personal care or educational support

• Experience managing children with exceptional needs

• CPR and First Aid certification required

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Support students' growth while collaborating with educators at Antigonish Education Centre.
