Athletic Therapist at St. Francis Xavier

Become an integral part of St. Francis Xavier University's athletics program as an Athletic Therapist. This full-time position focuses on assessment, rehabilitation, and medical coverage for varsity student-athletes in Antigonish, NS.

As a Staff Athletic Therapist, you will work within the Athletics & Recreation department for eight months yearly. Your responsibilities include assessing and rehabilitating varsity athletes, providing medical coverage at training and games, and collaborating closely with medical personnel and coaches. You will also supervise student therapists, ensuring a supportive environment for learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and rehabilitate varsity athletes' injuries

• Provide medical coverage during training and games

• Communicate daily with coaches and medical staff

• Supervise student therapists and volunteers

• Maintain records of all treatments and daily clinic upkeep

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in athletic therapy or kinesiology

• Certified Athletic Therapist CAT(C) status

• Advanced First Aid and CPR certification

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Willingness to attend evening and weekend events
