The R.K. Mac Donald Nursing Home is a Long-Term Care Home to 137 Residents and employs 250 staff in various Departments.

The Ward Clerk is responsible for clerical, scheduling & replacement of nursing staff and other related duties in all areas of the facility as directed by the Director of Clinical Services in accordance with the Mission, Core Values, Vision, and Policies & Procedures of the R.K. Mac Donald Nursing Home. The Ward clerk serves as a positive role model as a partner in the provision of care and support of our Residents, represents the home in a positive, professional, efficient and confidential manner.

Competent in using various computer software packages, Excel, Word and Microsoft Office;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Excellent attention to detail;
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet to deadlines;
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology;
Demonstrated professional / positive behavior;
Data entry is accurate;
Excellent customer service orientated with a professional and friendly approach. Display a proactive manner and ability to multi task. Regular & consistent attendance is essential

Grade 12;
Medical Terminology Course;
Basic Computer Skills and experience with internet/email;
Scheduling & Replacement utilizing Union Contracts;
Preferably 2 years previous experience within a LTC or hospital environment.

Casual hours to cover Rotational Vacant shifts Bi-weekly (subject to change)

Weekday/ and bi-weekend rotations

Shifts can be 8 hr. /4 hr. and 10 hr. /days. (Additional hours as replacement required to cover Vacation/Holiday, / sick time, etc., starting at 6 am, 7am or 8 am. (subject to availability)
