Concrete Laborer​/Foreman

Job Description

Salary Range $80,000 - $104,000

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Digging trenches and backfill holes to prepare for the construction site

· Operating equipment and heavy machinery used in construction sites

· Following instructions from construction project managers

· Loading and unloading building materials

· Cleaning the construction site by removing hazards, materials and debris from the worksite

· Manage and direct small crews

· Assist tradesmen and machine operators in construction projects

· Use equipment to break old forms and structures

· Prepare and apply construction materials to build structures or fill gaps

· Place traffic signals where appropriate

· Overseeing all activities pertaining to concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing, and curing.

· Dividing concrete construction projects into different stages and evaluating how much labor and materials are required for each stage.

· Resolving all problems that may affect project quality and completion.

· Consulting blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure that concrete structures are accurately placed and installed.

· Delegating tasks to concrete laborers and providing overall guidance.

· Maintaining accurate records of the number of hours worked and the number of materials used for each project.

· Ensuring that formwork and shoring are erected, supported, and dismantled based on engineering designs and drawings.

· Inspecting concrete after the formwork and shoring has been removed and instructing concrete laborers on how to correct defects and concrete roughness.

Skills and Qualifications

· Basic math skills and calculations while measuring on job sites

· Mechanical skills to operate machinery and equipment used regularly on construction sites

· Physical strength when performing heavy labor required from construction workers

· Physical stamina to handle long hours of performing strenuous work during the day in hot or cold weather

Requirements:

· Proven experience working as a Site Supervisor, or equivalent, preferred.

· Valid California Driver's License.

· Working knowledge of estimating and estimation software.

· The ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans.

· Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

· Excellent management and leadership skills and ability to work in a team.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
