Scope: The Supervisory, Nursing Services is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical operations and nursing functions at their assigned infusion site. This position ensures safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care by managing day‑to‑day workflows, assignments, and communication among nursing and support staff. The Lead RN acts as the on‑site clinical resource and liaison between nursing staff, providers, and the Supervisor of Nursing Services to maintain alignment with organizational standards, policies, and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily site operations, including RN assignments, patient flow, and coordination of clinical activities to ensure safe, timely, and effective care.
  • Monitor in‑baskets, triage queues, and communication channels to ensure timely response and resolution.
  • Oversee chart preparation and review (24‑hour and 96‑hour checks) for infusion patients to ensure readiness and accuracy.
  • Manage hospital admissions coordination, ensuring communication between physicians and inpatient facilities.
  • Oversee and supports INR/Coumadin Clinic workflows and patient monitoring, as applicable.
  • Monitor infusion treatment compliance, safety, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with REMS programs including Ultomiris and Touchprogram, coordinating staff education and tracking.
  • Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and ordering of infusion‑related equipment and supplies (BBraun pumps, Infusystem management and ordering).
  • Serve as a clinical resource for nursing and MA staff, providing guidance on treatment protocols, patient safety, and clinical decision‑making.
  • Coordinate daily staffing and coverage to ensure adequate clinical support for patient volumes.
  • Review and approve PTO requests and timecards for assigned staff, ensuring compliance with staffing needs and payroll accuracy.
  • Provide input to the Supervisor, Nursing Services on staff performance and assist with employee reviews and coaching.
  • Facilitate orientation and ongoing training for new and existing team members.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Conduct monthly safety checklists and ensure any findings are corrected and documented.
  • Support and reinforce staff education on new drugs, updated chemotherapy or infusion protocols, and equipment procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and patient satisfaction at the site level and communicate recommendations to leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between the site team and the Supervisor, Nursing Services, to maintain alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with physicians, practice managers, and pharmacy staff to ensure coordinated care delivery.
  • Support implementation of new programs, clinical protocols, or quality initiatives under direction from the Supervisor.
Qualifications Education / Training Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN required, MSN preferred
Licenses / Certifications / Registration
  • Current, active RN license in the State of California required
  • BLS/CPR certification required
  • Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) and ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy preferred
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience required, preferably in oncology or infusion therapy
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an outpatient infusion center or related setting required
  • Prior leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provides day‑to‑day leadership and work direction to nursing and support staff within the assigned site.
  • Assigns patient loads and daily RN duties to ensure safe and balanced workflows.
  • Reviews and approves staff timecards and PTO requests.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and training to clinical staff.
  • Serves as an on‑site escalation point for clinical or operational concerns.
  • Participates in the hiring and performance evaluation process by providing feedback to the Supervisor.
