American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift contract requiring a CA RN license and AWHONN Advanced certification.
Details- Labor and Delivery unit supporting LDRP care
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Manages fetal monitoring including external and internal EFM
- Administers medications such as Magnesium Sulfate and Pitocin
- Assists with vaginal deliveries and provides neonatal care in the delivery room
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
- Skilled in sterile vaginal exams, epidural anesthesia support, and pain management
- Experience recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Conducts patient and family assessments encompassing physiological, spiritual, and emotional needs
- Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care plans
- Delegates tasks appropriately based on scope of practice and competency
- Educates patients and families throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum care
- Documents patient care accurately in the electronic health record
- Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to newly hired staff
- Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment with a strong focus on patient safety
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Returning staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
- First-time travelers not considered for this position
