American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with 2+ years of experience and AWHONN Advanced certification for a 13-week day shift assignment.
Requirements- Active CA RN license required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Advanced certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and administration of blood and blood products
- Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
- Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- LDRP work setting
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from
- Performs fetal monitoring including external and internal EFM, recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Administers medications including Magnesium Sulfate therapy and Pitocin (oxytocin)
- Assists with vaginal deliveries, epidural anesthesia, and pain management
- Provides neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
- Performs antepartum care procedures including sterile vaginal exams
- Conducts comprehensive patient and family assessments covering physiological, spiritual, and emotional needs
- Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care plans
- Delegates tasks appropriately based on scope of practice and individual competency
- Documents patient care and responses to treatment in the electronic health record
- Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to newly hired staff as needed
- Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with hospital, state, and federal regulations
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Returning staff/travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- Candidates may only submit to one Sutter Health facility at a time
