Our client, a local authority, is seeking a highly organised and empathetic Bereavement Services Admin Officer to ensure the smooth and respectful administration of cremation services, making a real difference for families during difficult times.

You'll be part of a professional, caring team within a friendly, community-focused environment, reporting to the Bereavement Services Manager.
About you- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in bereavement or similar customer-focused environments
- Strong administrative skills with experience in managing sensitive documentation
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, demonstrating empathy and tact
- Competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data management
- Understanding of legislative requirements relating to cremation services
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Manage cremation bookings, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete
- Check and process statutory and medical cremation forms in accordance with legislation
- Liaise with medical referees, registration services, and funeral directors to coordinate all aspects of cremation procedures
- Provide compassionate support and information to bereaved families and industry professionals
- Handle enquiries, complaints, and payments efficiently and sensitively
- Maintain accurate records and ensure secure storage and disposal of documentation
- Support team development through training and the promotion of best practices
- Adhere to health and safety policies, including COSHH and manual handling procedures
