This is a leadership role for an experienced Design Manager who enjoys combining technical excellence with people management. You'll oversee a multidisciplinary design team, ensuring projects are delivered on programme, remain commercially aligned and meet all technical and compliance requirements. Working closely with commercial, manufacturing and site teams, you'll drive high standards across design coordination while implementing structured design management processes and governance.
If you enjoy leading teams, improving systems and delivering technically challenging construction projects, this is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine impact. Should You Apply? You'll be a strong fit if you have experience managing design teams within the construction industry, particularly within roofing, faades, cladding, glazing, structural steel or specialist subcontracting. You'll ideally have: A qualification in Construction Management, Architectural Technology, Structural Engineering or similar.
Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams. Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and technical compliance. Experience working with Tier 1 contractors and specialist suppliers. Knowledge of ISO 9001, BIM and Common Data Environments. Experience working under JCT, NEC or bespoke construction contracts. Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills. Professional accreditation (CIAT, CIOB, RICS, ARB or similar) would be advantageous but isn't essential.
