Power Plant Operator (Development Programme)

Our client, a leading power generation company, has partnered with Energis to recruit Power Plant Operators. Working across two of Northern Ireland's largest power stations, you'll receive comprehensive training while gaining practical experience operating and maintaining large-scale equipment, including gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and associated plant. We're looking for dynamic individuals who are technically minded, safety-focused and keen to develop a long-term career in power generation.

The Role

As part of the Operations team, you'll learn to safely operate, monitor and control power generation plant, supporting efficient electricity production while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating and monitoring power generation plant and auxiliary systems.
• Assisting with plant start-ups, shutdowns and load changes.
• Carrying out routine inspections and reporting defects.
• Supporting maintenance activities through plant isolations.
• Recording operational data and helping improve plant performance.
• Working closely with Operations, Engineering and Maintenance teams.

Minimum Criteria:

• A minimum of 3 A Levels, ideally supported by a recognised engineering apprenticeship, engineering degree or similar qualification.
• Good technical aptitude.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to learn.
• A commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
