The Role

We're recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business based near Toome. This is a varied role combining workshop-based assembly with field service, installation and commissioning of heavy Machinery.

As a Field Service Engineer , you'll be responsible for building machinery from engineering drawings, carrying out installations, commissioning equipment and providing maintenance and after-sales support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both workshop and site-based engineering work.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and fit industrial machinery from engineering drawings and build specifications.
• Prepare, inspect and test machinery prior to dispatch.
• Carry out on-site installation, commissioning and operator training.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and complete servicing and maintenance at customer sites.
• Provide technical support to customers and the engineering team.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a mechanical assembly or field service engineering role.
• Strong mechanical fitting and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working on industrial machinery, heavy plant or manufacturing equipment.
• Basic electrical and hydraulic knowledge would be advantageous.
• Time-served Mechanical Engineer or relevant engineering qualification preferred.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland with occasional overnight stays.
