Employee Relations Lead

- Newly created role MCS Group is exclusively partnering with a leading organisation as they seek to appoint an Employee Relations Lead to join their People function. This is a senior specialist opportunity for an experienced employee relations professional who will act as the organisation's subject matter expert, providing trusted advice, governance and oversight across complex and high-risk employee matters.

The role:

You will play a key role in strengthening employee relations practices, developing management capability and ensuring policies and processes remain consistent, commercially focused and legally compliant. The main responsibilities:
Act as the organisation's subject matter expert across all employee relations matters. Provide specialist advice to People Partners, senior leaders, managers and Shared Services teams. Lead and oversee complex, sensitive and high-risk cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance, conduct and whistleblowing matters. Provide guidance throughout investigations, hearings, appeals and formal processes. Review investigation reports, case documentation and proposed outcomes to ensure fairness, quality and consistency.

Develop and maintain employee relations policies, procedures, templates and governance frameworks. Monitor legislative changes, employment tribunal decisions, emerging case law and best practice. Design and deliver practical employee relations training for managers and the wider People team. The successful candidate:
Will have significant experience managing complex employee relations cases within a large or complex organisation within NI. Will possess strong and current knowledge of NI employment legislation, case law and employee relations best practice. Can provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice while effectively managing legal and organisational risk. Will have experience developing policies, procedures, guidance materials and manager toolkits. CIPD Qualified (desirable).
