Waste Manager- Operations

Location: Antrim

MCS Group is currently working in partnership with a public sector organisation to recruit an Waste Manager
- Looking after operations on a long term temporary contract (3 months with the view to extension). Excellent hourly rate - £26.62 + benefits.

The Role:

Provide strong, innovative leadership for Council Waste Operations, taking day-to-day responsibility for staff, budgets, facilities, equipment and service delivery across waste collections, street cleansing, recycling centres and depots. Lead, develop and support high-performing operational teams, managing performance, training needs, annual appraisals, attendance, and employee relations matters in line with Council policies. Plan, manage and continuously improve waste and street cleansing services, ensuring consistently high standards, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction and delivery of Winter Operations.

Develop, implement and review strategic policies, business plans, performance improvement plans and risk registers, identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation. Manage financial and operational performance, including budget control, asset maintenance and replacement programmes, performance reporting and contributing to annual estimates. Act as a key professional advisor to the Head of Waste Operations, deputising as required, producing management and committee reports, and contributing to community planning and cross-departmental working.

Engage proactively with customers, communities and partners to deliver efficient, responsive services, while working flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours duties and emergency support when required.

The Person :
Relevant degree in a subject relating too environmental management. Experience in managing team, budget, facilities and devloping improvement plans. Microsoft office experiece.
