Production Operative
Production Operative Department:
Randalstown Feedmill Responsible To: Production Manager
A leading food company, is seeking a motivated and hardworking Production Operative to join our dynamic team at our Randalstown site. This hands‑on role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation of our mill facility.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Production Operative, you will be responsible for:
- Operating blending/pressing machinery and micro bin filling.
- Weighing lorries and maintaining yard duties.
- Cleaning bins, silos, and equipment, including confined spaces.
- Handling stock management, including stocktaking, raw material checks, and carousel operations.
- Maintaining hygiene standards across the mill and premises.
- Ensuring compliance with COSHH, biosecurity, and health & safety regulations.
- Operating machinery such as fork trucks, pallet trucks, industrial scrubbers, scissor lifts, and cherry pickers.
- Performing equipment maintenance, including roller mills and grinders.
- Collaborating with the maintenance team to address machinery issues.
- Completing relevant paperwork and reporting.
- Following health and safety protocols and contributing to biosecurity controls.
This role involves shift work, with the following hours:
- Week 1: MON TUE SAT SUN (7.00am to 7.00pm)
- Week 2: WED THUR FRI (7.00am to 7.00pm)
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Experience:
Previous experience in a production environment. - Skills:
Ability to operate a computerised production control system and strong mechanical aptitude. - Physical Capability:
Comfortable with manual handling (e.g., lifting 25kg bags) and working in confined spaces. - Attributes:
Positive attitude, problem solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. - Other Requirements:
Flexibility to work weekends or night shifts, if required.
