Volunteer - Public Safety Support Services
Assist police staff with a wide range of tasks that are crucial to the department's daily operations. This is a volunteer position and does not offer any compensation.
Essential Duties
- General Clerical Support
- Filing documents
- Typing reports
- Data entry and retrieval
- Other routine duties
- Property & Evidence Unit
- Filing and scanning documents
- Assisting with the inventory process
- Handling items that may be hazardous or unpleasant due to their origin at crime scenes
- Records Unit
- Typing and filing documents
- Assisting with data entry and retrieval
Requirements
- Age: 18 years or older
- Background check, fingerprint clearance, and oral board interviews
- Ability to lift 30-50 pounds
- Proficiency in reading sequential numbering systems
- Proficiency with office equipment
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Commitment
- Minimum one year of service
- At least 16 hours per month
- Days:
Monday through Thursday - Hours:
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
