The Structural Welder is responsible for welding, fitting, and fabricating structural steel components in support of industrial construction and maintenance operations. This position requires a strong understanding of welding procedures, blueprints, and safety standards in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities:- Perform structural welding using SMAW, FCAW, and/or GMAW processes
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
- Fit, fabricate, and weld structural steel, plate, and miscellaneous metals
- Verify materials, dimensions, and weld quality before and after welding
- Use welding equipment, torches, grinders, and hand tools safely
- Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
- Perform repairs or rework as required
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a safe and organized condition
- Adhere to all site safety rules and regulations and wear required PPE at all times
- Meet or exceed company safety standards
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of structural welding experience preferred
- Ability to pass required welding tests
- Experience in industrial or mining environments preferred
- Must pass site-specific safety training and drug screening
- NCCER Welding Certification (Structural or Industrial)
- Valid process certifications for SMAW, FCAW, and/or GMAW
- MSHA Part 46 or Part 48
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction
- Forklift, aerial lift, or telehandler certification
- Confined Space Awareness
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and welding best practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and dependable
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Valid driver's license if assigned a company vehicle
- Flexible work schedule including nights and weekends as required
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, noise, and industrial hazards
- Standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and repetitive motion throughout the shift
- Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally
- Competitive hourly wage: $22-$37 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
