Pay Range: $111.00/hr

• Safely transports students and staff to and from school or other activities in a school bus or district vehicle.
• Ensures safety and conduct of passengers in accordance with State, District, and Department regulations.
• Assists students and staff as they enter and exit the vehicle.
• Performs daily safety inspections, identifies and reports needed repairs and mechanical problems.
• Reports student misbehavior to parents and documents contact; prepares disciplinary referrals as needed.
• Maintains current route sheets and keeps the bus clean (interior and exterior).
• Regularly reviews video tapes for operational effectiveness and student conduct.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Unrestricted Commercial Driver's License (No Air Brake Restriction).
• Passenger and Bus Driver Endorsement.
• DPS State School Bus Driver Certification.
• Infant/Child/Adult First Aid & CPR Certification.
• DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card with IVP#.
• Pre‑trip inspection documentation in accordance with federal/state reporting requirements.
• Ability to maintain logs of student behavior, parent/guardian contacts, and bus stop safety concerns.
• Ability to process student conduct referrals as required.
