Media library volunteer morning

The Heemgaard media library is looking for a teenager-proof volunteer for administrative tasks and assistance to students.

We are looking for a colleague for Wednesday mornings from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM .

Working more than 1 day a week is also possible. Activities include various administrative tasks (with computer) and helping students between the ages of 12 and 18 with questions ranging from 'How does the printer work?' to 'Can you help me find a nice book?'. It is useful to have:

• computer skills and/or willingness to learn to work with (online versions of) programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and the library program Aura
• reading skills (for following written instructions)
• skills in dealing with adolescents

Knowledge of (children's) literature is not necessary, you will learn the collection and the online catalogue in practice. You will always work with an experienced colleague.

Interested parties are invited to participate for half a day to see whether the media library work is to their liking from both sides.

Other available parts of the day are:

• Monday afternoon
• Tuesday afternoon
• Wednesday afternoon
• Thursday afternoon (training possible at another time of day)

The visitor entrance to the school is on the parking lot side (Beatrijsgaarde).

The Heemgaard media library offers space for over 70 students to borrow books and work on school assignments, with or without a computer or laptop.
