Volunteers accompanying students on bicycles to and from school
For accompanying pupils (mostly from special education) to school (morning) and from school back home (afternoon), we at De Reiskoffer are looking for volunteer supervisors. Such a volunteer supervisor travels with a pupil a number of times by public transport or by bicycle, depending on the distance from home to school and the pupil's abilities. Usually a location is agreed upon from where the journey is started together with the pupil (a bus stop, station or possibly from the pupil's home).
Some children already have some experience and pick it up very quickly, others need a little more time. On average, 10 days of supervision are needed to enable a pupil to travel independently. De Reiskoffer has drawn up a more extensive profile sketch and further description of the work that can be used to inform volunteers.
The Reiskoffer helps young people from special education to learn to travel independently.
