Library associate book restoration

Responsibilities

• Restoration of books from the collection of the Nature and Outdoor Life Hub, the study center of Aardbalans.
• Rebinding books with low condition status (indicate in database)
• Books with a broken cover or damaged cover provided with a new, hard cover
• Laminate or provide a hard cover if the frequency of use gives rise to this
• Checking (frequently) used books for any defects
• Digital updating of condition status
• Interim evaluation in consultation with the librarian

• Minimum MBO working and thinking level (preferably successfully completed a book restoration course)
• Familiar with different techniques of book restoration [hard requirement]
• Extensive experience with covers, lamination and restoration of books
• Be able to work accurately
• Being able to think critically
• Affinity with Dutch nature
