Overview
The Senior Systems Technician maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals. Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems. Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups. Creates, maintains, and upgrades system images for use with WDS or other imaging technologies. This person is also familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Whatyou’ll do at Insight
- Installs and supports approved desktop Windows and Mac OS based operating systems.
- Responds to and resolves computer, printer, and other peripheral support and troubleshooting requests in a manner consistent with IT policies and procedures.
- Installs and maintains approved software applications such as MS Office, SAP, and related software.
- Maintains computer hardware/software installation and configuration online documentation.
- Supports enterprise applications and development activities.
- Administers approved standards for company wide acquisition and deployment of PC hardware, software, technologies, and services.
- Keeps current with alternative systems and technology. Makes technology recommendations to management consistent with the company’s business and systems strategies.
- Provides technical support and training to system users.
- Associate Degree or its equivalent.
- 3 years’ experience in the field with desktop operating systems.
- Must obtain certification on current desktop operating system within 6 months from date of hire.
- A+ preferred.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various levels of management and to explain technology to the business community as required.
- Possess the ability to prioritize work assignments.
- Possess analytical ability to collect and examine technical data to resolve technology implementation and support issues.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, walk; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone and keyboard; reach, stoop and kneel.

- Light to moderate lifting is required.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate.
