Position: Volunteer wanted for new Neighborhood Circle

Volunteer wanted for new Neighborhood Circle

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer for our new Neighborhood Circle in South-East Apeldoorn who enjoys interacting with people and is active in the neighborhood.

A Neighbourhood Circle consists of 9–12 people who live close to each other and all have a need for help, big or small. Together they form a network that they can fall back on in daily life. Everyone in a neighbourhood circle helps each other based on their own talents and is supported by a volunteer and a professional Neighbourhood Circle coach.

In this way, participants learn to live more independently and move easily in society, which reduces the demand for formal care and support. People can retain their support needs, but increasingly ask them in their informal circle.

What are you going to do:

  • This Neighborhood Circle is in the start-up phase, so together you will lay the foundation for this new Neighborhood Circle.
  • You help the participants of the Buurtcirkel to support each other. You do this individually or in a group.
  • You are always looking for the strength of the participants and the group.
  • You attend the weekly meetings. This is a moment of pleasant encounter, discussion of themes and practical questions.
  • You help people find their way around the neighborhood.

What do we ask of you:

  • Enthusiasm and belief in people's own strength.
  • Good communication skills (patience, humor, empathy)
  • Being able to listen well.
  • Being able to connect participants with the opportunities in the neighborhood.
  • An attitude in which you support participants in tackling issues that arise, either independently or together.
  • Availability on Thursdays from approximately 6 hours (in any case between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM). In the future, other days are also possible in consultation.
  • Mastery of the Dutch language.
  • We also request a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).

What do we offer you:

  • Support by the Neighborhood Circle Coach
  • Travel expenses reimbursement in accordance with policy
  • Opportunity for personal development, for example through training.
