Middle and Senior School Teacher On Call

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher On-Call (TOC) to join our dynamic team of educators at Southpointe Academy. Our Grade 6-12 TOCs play a critical role in supporting our school's mission to provide a nurturing and engaging learning environment. TOCs step in as substitute teachers on an as-needed basis, ensuring continuity in the educational process during the absence of our regular teaching staff.

This position is ideal for individuals who are looking for flexible hours, are passionate about teaching, and are committed to fostering a positive learning experience for learners.

• Deliver well-prepared lessons and provide effective classroom management while adhering to the school's curriculum and guidelines. Ensure a smooth transition in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
• Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and active participation among students. Encourage student inquiry and facilitate discussions to enhance the learning experience.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment, promoting positive behaviour and reinforcing the school's values.
• Assist students with activities, provide clarifications, and offer additional guidance to help students demonstrate their learning.
• Collaborate with other teachers when necessary to ensure a cohesive learning experience. Communicate effectively with the regular classroom teacher, and/or leadership team, providing feedback on the day's activities.
• Be adaptable to teaching various grade levels from Kindergarten to Grade 5, including teaching a range of subject areas such as Physical Education, Music, STEM, Art and French.
• Be familiar with the school's safety protocols and emergency procedures to ensure the well-being of students.

• Bachelor of Education or Equivalent.

  Certificate of Qualification or Independent School Teaching Certificate.

• $300.00 per full day worked.
